Residential Recycling/Refuse Permits are valid from July 1st and expire on June 30th yearly.

Online Darien Recycling & Refuse Permits are not available in March or April. You must come in to the Department of Public Works to obtain a permit during this time.

Seniors may not obtain a permit online. You must come in to the Public Works office or mail in your permit request.

Online Darien Recycling & Refuse Permit renewals are for existing customers ONLY, who have purchased a Dump Permit previously and whose vehicle registrations are already on file with the Department of Public Works from May to February only.

If your address or vehicle information has changed you must update your proof of residency and vehicle registration with the Department of Public Works.

For replacement permits or adding a new vehicle, you must provide us with your new vehicle registration and return your current permit (even if in pieces) in order to obtain a free replacement permit. Otherwise you will be charged $50.00 for the new permit.

Any lost or replacement permits are $50.00 each and must be purchased at the DPW office. Permits are not pro-rated.

There is a maximum of three (3) permits per household.
